GBL is a global industrial biotechnology company with the experience and skills to deliver competitive, capital efficient production of biobutanol and other C4 chemicals. We are based in Abingdon, England near Oxford with over 7000 ft² of laboratories, offices and a 500 liter pilot facility. In the U.S, GBL has an office in Richmond, Virginia and an 1100 liter state-of-the-art pilot facility in Columbus, Ohio. GBL also has satellite offices in China, Brazil and India.

Our leadership team has over 175 years of combined biotechnology, biochemistry and biofuels experience, with more than 400 million gallons of biofuels brought onto the market by our team. Our patents and proprietary know-how enable the production of low-cost biobutanol and carboxylic acids from a variety of renewable biomass sources. GBL focuses on lignocellulosic biomass, such as woody residues, sugar cane bagasse, corn residues and prairie grasses. GBL can also convert sugar crops such as sugar cane and molasses, sweet sorghum, sugar beets and cereal grains, and starch crops such as corn and cassava into biobutanol and value-add by-products.

Our leadership team has the experience and know-how to build and operate biobutanol production facilities today.
