The Global Crowdmapping of Biorefinery Initiatives is a nonprofit platform designed to visualize key initiatives as well as trends in the field of Biorefinery developments on a world scale.

The project aims to put together the Biorefinery active players and highlight their projects and initiatives. The collaborative generated content feature enables users to join biorefinery initiatives database by subscribing reports to the project, and then create a network with other participants.

Biorefinery Initiatives database is presented in two views: direct on the map geolocating key initiatives by categories (feedstock, technology, scale of production, organization, events, funding etc.) and the cataloged reports including detailed information about each mapped initiatives.

This project is a initiative in your “Precompetitive Projects” pillar that explore the full potential of Web 2.0 to create along with partners and sponsors, collaborative projects that generate results in pre-competitive stage for the entire production chain, i.e., the results do not directly generate competitive advantage, but they solve common problems and allow efforts to be redirected to strategic projects.
